Fannie Farmer’s Baking Powder Biscuit
Materials
- 5 mixing bowls
- 5 table or butter knives
- Something to roll dough on (parchment paper)
- Cooking trays
- Cookie cutters
- Timer
Ingredients
- 2 cups farine (flour) + extra for dusting board
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons beurre (Butter)
- Pincée sel
- ¾ cup lait
Method
- Mix dry ingredients, and sift twice.
- Work in butter with tips of fingers
- Add milk, but not all! Mix with a knife to get a soft dough.
- Place onto a floured board and roll lightly to one-half inch in thickness.
- Shape with a cookie-cutter. Place on a buttered pan and bake at 220°C for 12-15 minutes
