Meet Rådan's Fritids Team

Samuel

My name is Samuel and I work as team leader for Fritids. I have worked within

Futuraskolan since 2009 and here at Rådan since 2011. Since June,

I have been on paternity leave but now I’m back to work again.

Ed

I'm Ed Dawson, I have been working in fritids at Rådan since 2014.

It is the third school I've worked in since moving to Stockholm in 2011.

I am currently engaged to Filippa, who is Swedish and studies medicine at Karolinska Institutet.

We both enjoy travelling together in our spare time and

have recently just come back from a long trip in India and Sri Lanka.

I also enjoy writing and recording my own music, drawing, playing pool and watching films.

Neha

Hi everyone! My name is Neha I live in Stockholm and I come from India.

I have great interest in Arts and music. I love books and like to read fantasy books!

My goal is to speak Swedish fluently (someday).

I have a 4 year old son (turning 5 soon) love pets and wish to have one soon!!

Mitt namn är Caroline men alla kallar mig Caro.

Jag har jobbat på Rådan i snart 7 år. Jag började jobba i köket o på fritids

men har även hunnit med att jobba i biblioteket, administrationen och även varit slöjdlärare.

Ett av mina intressen är skapandet, allt från att måla till att sy.

Jag har sytt min kläder till Sofia-dagen och medeltidsklänningar.

Men nu är jag tillbaka på fritids och är med förskoleklassen

Hello my name is Liliana, I am from Peru, I speak Spanish, English, Swedish and Portuguese.

I have been working at Rådan since February 2016. I really enjoy my time with the students,

and sharing in new experiences with them every day.

I love to dance, sing and make jewellery. At the moment I am using these skills to run

the dance club and the jewellery-making club.

Joonas

Hello my name is Joonas and i have worked in fritids since early November 2018.

I play occasionally volleyball and i love to read.I am finnish and hope to speak swedish fluently.
Happy to be here.

Mr. Responsibility

The unofficial mascot of Rådan. My hobbies include collecting hats,

riding my pet elephant, and hanging out with my ghoulish friends.

Being so small means that I  sometimes I get lost,

but thankfully I've always been found by responsible students.

Playground Rules

Just a few general playground rules. There may be more rules or the rules may change depending on who is supervising the area and these rules must be respected during school hours.

• The monkey bars:

We may not pull, push or drag someone else off of them. So there is to be no "fighting".
We must wait in the line for others to have a turn. We may not cut in front of this line.

• Slide

We may not wrestle on top, or push and pull each other off of the climbing

• Swing

We may not push, pull or drag anyone off of the swing.
We must stop the swing when someone on the swings says to stop.
We must not throw objects at the swing when others are on it.
If others are waiting to have a turn on the swing, we must share and use it for a maximum of 3 minutes.

• Balance Beam

We may not play games where we push and pull each other off

• Football pitch

There is to be no rough play on the pitch.
Everyone must respect others pitch times according to the posted schedule.
If a group does not play during their time, other classes may share the pitch.
When playing with förskola the ball should remain on the ground to avoid injury of other players.

Holiday Fritids Registration

Hey everyone!

Christmas vacation is rapidly approaching and that means holiday fritids registration.The fritids staff and the kitchen personal would like to kindly request that guardians register their child/children now for fritids during the break.This registration is very important because it allows us to plan activities and to ensure there is enough staff for all the children. It is also important because the kitchen personal need to plan and order lunches (including food for children with special dietary requirements) and mellanmål.
Without pre-registration, activities and outings could be cancelled and lunch and mellis might not be available.
The form for registration is on SchoolSoft until November 19, 2017.

Construction at the Drop Off Zone

Information we have received from Sollentuna kommun about the drop off zone.

Igår startade vi byggnationen vid vändplatsen vid Rådanvägen. Byggtiden är beräknad till två arbetsveckor, men förhoppningsvis kommer de bli klara fortare så påverkan på hämta och lämna vid skolan blir så liten som möjligt. I dagsläget kommer vi genomföra byggnationen enligt tidigare bifogad ritning då det är den vi har budget till i år, men tar med oss belysningsfrågan till framtiden. Jag har även stämt av med Annakarin på exploateringskontoret och hon ska arbeta vidare med frågan angående servitutet för en framtida gångväg. Vad gäller den gångväg (gamla bilvägen) mellan Silverdalsvägen och Rådanvägen kommer den i framtiden enbart vara en gång- och cykelväg. Annakarin ska dock se om de kan ordna en vändplats vid Silverdalsvägen för att underlätta lämning/hämtning även där.

Rådan Fritids

Our next theme is:

Communication

"Communication development for children includes gaining the skills to understand and to express thoughts, feelings, and information".

All fritids clubs and activities aim to focus on communication skill during weeks 10-14. Our goal is to help our adorable students feel at greater comfort in their communication skills.

Of course we cannot develop COMMUNICATION without including other life skills such as RESPONSIBILITY, COOPERATION and FRIENDSHIP!

Information about Drop-off zone!

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

From 06/03/2017 all daily info about students (e.g. what times the students leave school or whom they are going home with) should be put on schoolsoft by caregivers and we will not take any info at the drop-off zone.

In order to put information on schoolsoft, please follow these steps:

1. Login as Parents/Caregiver on schoolsoft
2. Go to My Pick Up Times (under Drop off/Pick up title)
3. Put comments (for required day/child) under Comment from parent
4. DON’T FORGET TO SAVE!

Mustafa Abdi

My name is Mustafa known as Musse too. I have worked in Rådan since October 2015. I have worked with people almost all the time and experienced different  jobs such as nurse, psychiatric nurse and supervisor for unaccompanied minors. My future plan is to become a teacher or recreation pedagogue.

Liliana Agreda

Kristina Andersson

Hi! I'm Kristina otherwise known as Kiki. I used to live in an Igloo in Canada with Polar Bears as neighbours but I got tired of the Penguins and moved here to the tropical land of Sweden. I deeply regret not catching a

Tauros before moving here. The sweets here are not as great, but the baking club has helped solve the issue.

Mattias Ekstam Ruden

Hi there,

I am Mattias the Fritids eldest with the respectful age of 41 going on 42.

I have socialpedagogisk ledarskap degree and have been at Rådan since 2011. The things I like to do is drawing, Arts and Crafts, sports and playing games.

Elias Hjerpe

My name is Elias. I am 27 years old. I have worked here for about 4 years and I still love it. I am currently also training to become a firefighter and this summer I am marrying the love of my life. I have passion for music and play guitar. I try to pass on my knowledge to our kids at Rådan and be a supporter for their learning.

Narges Mahzoun

My name is Narges and I joined Rådan family in 2014. I have Master’s degrees in Language and Culture in Europe and Health and Society. Back home in Iran, I have worked as pre-school teacher, educational planner with English speciality and editor of an international academic journal.

I am Rådan’s librarian and one of the Fantastic Fritids’ team leaders. I am passionate supporter of culture and creativity and working with kids is a joy to me.

Kosma Smiechowski

Known as the "Big Bad Boy" by some, or the "Biggest Kid in School" by others. I came from Australia to Sweden to pursue a dream, which I have far exceeded the goals I had set myself. I do my best to bring a childish imagination and an athlete's self discipline to working with (and hopefully teaching) the kids from a Fritids perspective.

My name Is Eric Ward from Brooklyn NYC. I have a 4 year degree in child psychology and also college athlete in basketball and american football. I specialize in sports, martial arts, and fitness activities for the children. Always feel free to come to me and ask me anything!

FRITIDS' GOAL IN 2016-2017

An introduction about Rådan fritids' goals and activities: 

Besides having fun and try to create a joyful environment for our kids, Rådan fritids' goal in the new educational year is to focuse on 4 important life skills. These are:

Cooperation
Responsiblity
Creativity 
Communication

By help of well-organized planning, our aim is to help our students to have a better understanding of these themes and to practice them through all activities and clubs. 


Every theme covers 5-6 weeks and we will have one week for reflecting on what we have achieved. .

F-klass barbecue in the Forest!!

This last Thursday F-klass went with Lindsey and Elias to the forest. There they could barbecue sausages and marshmallows in a tent. By the way, the tent was entirely built by them during this school year. Incredible work!!! :-)

Nobel Lunch in Rådan

Thursday the 10th of December was our Nobel's Lunch day here at school. Many students were rewarded Nobel prizes and happiness was literally everywhere.

Look how beautiful everything was!!

We couldn't have this event if it wasn't for the amazing parents that volunteered and for Caro that organised everything. Thank you so much!!! :-)

3 courses menu for 320 people!! In total these amazing parents served 960 meals with lots of love and always a smile in their faces. 

It was a memorable day! :-)

Last Friday we went to Australia!!

Last Friday was a fun day! We went all the way to Australia. Yes we did it!! Our captain following our students desires, took us all on a long flight. This time to the Kangaroo land!! :-)

Our 2 flight attendants served Anzac cookies that were baked by the Baking club the day before as the on board meal.

This video was one of the videos they could watch during the long flight to Australia!! ;-)

When they arrived in that beautiful and cultural rich country, they could learn about the interesting native animals and the amazing Aboriginal people.

They had also the chance to try bread with butter and Vegemite. A very traditional Australian snack. Did you ever try it? It has a very unique taste. :-)

And why not having a Kangaroo musical chairs to finish that amazing trip? Instead of dancing around the chairs, the kids had to hop like a Kangaroo!!

Rådan Library's Open House

Wednesday 02.12.2015 we had Rådan Library's Open House and it was a fantastic day.

We had many lovely visitors who showed interest and attention to their own library.

Eva gave a nice presentation to every group and informed them about library's plans. She talked about new books which we have bought so far and those which are on the way.

We got wonderful suggestions and tips from all grades and a long wish list. :-)

We try so hard and hope to have an active and updated library. A library that Rådan’s kids deserve. Boom! ;-)
